LGCA Swimming Pool Rules

Attention: Please read these rules and review them with your family.



You must have your membership & access card with you to verify that you are a member at any time you are at the clubhouse or pool premises. No exceptions.


Parents are responsible for their children and guests at all times. Adult members who are directly responsible for the well-being of children must supervise them at all times, no exceptions. Minors are NOT permitted to enter the clubhouse using the member's access card. Only adult members are authorized to use the access card.


No lifeguard on duty.

Adult member must remain on the premises at all times

and you must have your access card with you.


RULES

  • Be respectful. No offensive behavior, including but not limited to: language, media, and obscene gestures. No loud music will be permitted to insure good community relations and safe communication between swimmers and supervising adults/lifeguards.
  • No glass containers allowed in pool area. Please use plastic containers only. Glass, sharp objects or any other items that might cause injury or accidents are not allowed in the pool or pool area.

  • No foreign objects (metal, wood, coins, etc.) Silly string, confetti, glitter, or streamers are not allowed in and around the pool at any time.
  • No arguing with the lifeguard or board members. They have the right to enforce all written and unwritten rules. Their word is final.
  • No horseplay, pushing, shoving, aggressive behavior or bullying allowed in pool or clubhouse.
  • No diving, backward dives, or flips off of the pool deck, walls or roof.
  • No running, please walk around the pool area at all times.
  • No dunking in the pool.
  • No smoking or chewing tobacco in the pool area or clubhouse is permitted at any time.
  • Spitting, spouting water, blowing the nose, discharging bodily waste, blisters, open sores or wounds, in the pool is strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of the other swimmers.
  • Proper swimming attire is required. Must wear bathing suits, swim trunks, or other appropriate swim attire. No skinny-dipping. Persons whose hair is longer than neck length (at the nape) must braid or tie back hair. If there are any questions, see the lifeguard who has the final say. No bobby pins or other metal objects to be worn while in the pool (they may fall off and end up on the bottom of the pool causing rust marks). Elastic bands are ok.
  • Children who are not potty-trained must use swimmer's diapers in order to enter the pool. County health codes will be enforced, including closure of the pool area for 24 hours when fecal material is present.
  • Band-Aids and gum must be deposited in the trash before entering the pool.
  • No pets allowed in the pool area or clubhouse unless it’s a guide or service animal.
  • Loss or damage of personal valuables is not the responsibility of Lakewood Gardens Civic Association.
  • Tables, chairs, umbrella stands, toys, and other miscellaneous poolside equipment must be returned to their original position before leaving the pool. 
  • The lifesaving ring is NOT to be used as a toy. It is a safety device. 
  • All swimmers must vacate the pool by 2pm on a rental event day.
  • No more than 4 guests are allowed per member to bring to the pool.
  • Non-Members that live in Lakewood Gardens are not allowed to be the guest of Members unless the event is a sponsored LGCA Event. 
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to enter the Clubhouse without an adult present.

PENALTIES


All rules will be enforced and offenders will be penalized depending on the severity of the offense.


It is the duty of the lifeguard to enforce these regulations. Any disrespect, defiance, fighting, swearing, or other abuses of privileges shall be cause for immediate suspension and removal from the premises. Penalties for violations have been set up as follows:

     A) First offense: Warning

     B) Second offense: Immediate suspension. If a minor, then a parent 

             will be contacted to further discuss.


Illegal activity such as underage drinking and/or doing drugs on LGCA property at any time is strictly prohibited and is subject to immediate suspension of membership up to an including being reported to the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station.


The following violations will result in suspension of clubhouse and pool privileges for the entire Summer:

  A) Entrance to the pool or clubhouse by climbing the walls or by  

       means other than authorized access card entry.


  B) You must be at least 18 years of age to enter the

       Clubhouse. Minors using the LGCA access card to enter the

       LGCA Clubhouse without an adult household member.

       (Non-member adults are not authorized to use the LGCA access

       card to enter the premises.)


  C) Diving or jumping off the roof or walls.


This facility is under video surveillance and is subject to remote viewing by a board member at any time to ensure that all rules and regulations are being adhered to.
